Who we are

Since their formation in 2005, Legion of the Damned has established itself as one of Europe’s leading thrash/death metal acts, performing over 440 shows worldwide across Europe, Asia, and the Americas. 

The band made its international breakthrough with the debut Malevolent Rapture (2006), followed by a steady stream of releases including Sons of the Jackal (2007), Feel the Blade (2008) and Cult of the Dead (2008). Momentum continued with Descent into Chaos (2011), their highest German chart entry (#45), and the Napalm Records era releases Ravenous Plague (2014), Slaves of the Shadow Realm (2019) and The Poison Chalice (2023).

Over the years, multiple albums entered the German charts, while the band toured extensively with acts such as Kreator, Sepultura, Cannibal Corpse, Behemoth, Amon Amarth, Celtic Frost, Sodom, Destruction, Obituary and Kataklysm

Legion of the Damned has appeared repeatedly at major international festivals including Wacken Open Air, Hellfest, Graspop Metal Meeting, Summer Breeze, Party.San, Masters of Rock, Bang Your Head and Tuska, building a reputation as a powerful and reliable live act worldwide.

Throughout their career, the band has worked with renowned producer Peter Tägtgren (Hypocrisy). The majority of the albums were produced by Andy Classen (Holy Moses), whose work played a defining role in shaping the band’s signature sound. The latest album, The Poison Chalice (2023), was recorded and produced at Toneshed Studio.
